Lead Attorney: Dierdra Williams

Case Type: Commercial Intersection

Settlement: $1,000,000.00

Location: Douglasville, Georgia

Witherite Law Group attorney Dierdra Williams successfully settled a commercial trucking collision case for $1,000,000. Our client was critically injured in a wreck caused by a commercial truck performing an unsafe left turn.

The settlement reflects clear liability, strong supporting evidence, and the significant impact the wreck had on our client.

The Wreck

The wreck occurred in October 2025, along Fairburn Road near Interstate 20.

It was early in the morning when our client was travelling northbound in the far-right lane, heading home after working overnight. As he entered the intersection at I-20 eastbound, a commercial truck driver suddenly attempted a left turn across his lane, cutting directly in front of him. Resulting in the trucks’ front-right tractor striking the client’s front-left side, causing a devastating impact on our client.

Immediately after the wreck, our client blacked out at the scene and later regained consciousness in the hospital. Resulting in our client to be left paralyzed and with a permanent disability.

Disputed Liability and Initial Police Findings

The trucking company’s driver claimed he had a green arrow at the time of the collision. However, due to the severity of his injuries, our client was unable to clearly explain what happened to the officers.

As a result, the officer initially placed fault on our client, as the client was unable to provide a full account due to their critical injuries.

Despite the initial setback, Dierdra Williams pursued a deeper investigation to challenge the initial findings and fight for our client.

Key Evidence That Strengthened the Case

With a thorough investigation, Witherite Law Group uncovered critical facts that showcased clear liability to the defendant.

  • Our client had the right-of-way to enter the intersection.
  • The defendant driver made an improper and unsafe left turn.
  • The defendant driver had been involved in another wreck 6 months prior.
  • The defendant driver was only 21 years old and newly licensed with a CDL, raising concerns about training and experience.

These findings were instrumental in building a strong claim and positioning the case for a significant recovery.

Strategic Legal Action

Recognizing the severity of our clients' injuries and medical expenses, Dierdra moved quickly to protect the client’s claim.

She issued an early demand which sought a $1,000,000.00 settlement. Imposing a strict deadline for acceptance and payment, creating pressure on the insurance company to act quickly and reasonably.

Case Resolution

As a direct result of these efforts, Dierdra Williams successfully secured a $1,000,000.00 settlement on behalf of our client.

This outcome provides critical financial support for ongoing care.
