Witherite Law Group Awards $222,500 to South Atlanta High School Seniors

Witherite Law Group and 1-800-TruckWreck awarded $222,500 in scholarships to 89 graduating seniors from South Atlanta High School through the 2025 Making a Difference Scholarship program.

The 2025 group was the largest class of scholarship recipients in the program’s history at South Atlanta High School. Each graduating senior received a $2,500 scholarship to help cover expenses associated with continuing education and future career goals.

The scholarships were eligible for annual renewal for students who maintained a 2.5 GPA and completed at least 12 credit hours. This renewable structure allows the program to support qualifying students beyond their first year of continued education.

Amy Witherite created the Making a Difference Scholarship in 2014 to provide financial assistance to students who demonstrated leadership in their schools and communities. By May 2025, the initiative had awarded 404 scholarships and funded 398 scholarship renewals across schools supported by the firm in Atlanta, Chicago and Dallas—an investment of approximately $1.99 million.

Amy Witherite, founder of Witherite Law Group and owner of 1-800-TruckWreck, discussed the importance of reducing financial barriers for students pursuing education after high school.

“Accruing overwhelming student loan debt is a valid concern, as rising costs make post-secondary education less attainable for the majority. Financial assistance—like scholarships—can be a lifeline for those seeking to further their education,” Witherite said. “For nearly a decade we’ve given our scholarship to students in Atlanta. We’re excited to see how this group of recipients will use their natural talent and education to reach their full potential.”

The program also provided practical preparation for life after graduation. Witherite Law Group and 1-800-TruckWreck hosted a pop-up shop where scholarship applicants could select professional attire for college tours, interviews and other important opportunities.

The scholarships were presented at South Atlanta High School in May 2025. Through the Making a Difference Scholarship, Witherite Law Group continues investing in students and helping future leaders pursue their academic and professional goals.
